![]() Dungeons & Dragons has surged in popularity recently, and educators have taken note of its many benefits in a social learning environment. On top of that, schools, libraries, community centers and enrichment organizations can receive the D&D Afterschool Kit, which includes everything needed to start or enhance D&D clubs and meetups. In celebration of the release of a new starter set, Wizards will provide Dungeons & Dragons-themed classroom materials for teachers across the country to add to their curriculum. A new initiative from Wizards of the Coast, a subsidiary of Hasbro (NASDAQ: HAS), hopes to provide a platform using the roleplaying game Dungeons & Dragons for social activities and educational learning. As kids and teens return to the classroom, some for the first time since the pandemic hit in 2020, parents and educators are concerned about how the children will interact with each other and their teachers. No transportation is provided for students to get home after Dragon School. On the request form you will note whether you want your student to walk home, meet you in the car outside school by office, or be picked up in the entryway. Parents/guardians can review and fill out this form with their student and determine what their interests are. Classes do change each session depending on student interest, availability of funds, access to instructors, space availability in the building, and staff input.Ī few weeks before each session, a request form is sent home with each student. The first session is opened to ALL 1st-5th grade students and the second session normally allows Kindergarteners to participate in classes that might be appropriate for their developmental level.ĭragon school has offered classes in art, music, academic support, theater, leadership, computer science, outdoor ed, science, and much more. However, not every grade has classes offered every day. It is a great opportunity for students to explore their individual interests in a safe, supervised, and supportive environment.Ĭlasses are generally offered between 2:30-4:15, Monday through Thursday for two 10 week sessions, one in the fall and one in the winter. Dragon School provides classes after school for Emerald students in explore enrichment experiences, get academic support, and build the connection between students, families, and school. ![]()
